Legal Issues

If you are hosting the party:

  • You are responsible for recognizing the signs of someone who has had too much to drink.
  • It is your responsibility to prevent your guests from becoming intoxicated (i.e. cutting them off if you think they have had too much to drink).
  • You can be held responsible for any damages that occur as a result of the alcohol that you provide.
  • You are responsible for what happens to your guests when they are in your home or on your property.
  • You are responsible for the safety and behaviour of your guests until they are sober, not just until they leave your party.
