Great Grains

  • Breads - bannock, chapati, corn bread, flatbread, naan, pita bread, roti, tortilla, etc.
  • Buns and bagels
  • Crackers
  • Pancakes, waffles
  • Pasta, noodles and rice
  • Cereals - hot or cold
  • Baked goods - muffins, rolls, cookies

Grains are a good source of carbohydrate, and give us iron, zinc, B vitamins, and dietary fibre.

Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating recommends: "Choose whole grain and enriched products more often". How do I know if my bread is "whole grain" or "enriched"?
